Bayview North Optometry provides comprehensive eye examinations for patients of all ages. Eye exams are important not only for checking a person’s vision for the purpose of prescribing eyeglasses and/or contact lenses, but also for assessing the overall health of the eyes (detecting and diagnosing eye disease to provide appropriate treatment when necessary). We use modern, up-to-date equipment and techniques to do so.
Dr. Kar Sakhichand
Optometrist
Dr. Kar Sakhichand grew up in Downsview, North York and is a graduate of the School of Optometry and Vision Science at the University of Waterloo. He studied biochemistry at York University in Toronto during his undergraduate years. During his final year of Optometry school, he completed an Ocular Disease and Therapeutics externship program at a tertiary eye care clinic in Denver, Colorado.
Dr. Sakhichand has been practicing Optometry since 1995. Since 2003 he has been providing comprehensive eye care to families in Newmarket, Aurora and surrounding communities. He sees patients of all ages and is certified to prescribe therapeutic pharmaceutical agents for the treatment of many eye diseases. Dr. Sakhichand is experienced in the co-management of refractive surgery (laser eye surgery procedures such as LASIK and PRK) and in 1997 underwent the LASIK procedure himself.
Dr. Sakhichand is a member of the College of Optometrists of Ontario. He lives in Richmond Hill with his wife and enjoys listening to music in his spare time. He is also a lifelong fan of comic books and has attended the world famous San Diego Comic Con on numerous occasions.
